Þreytt, uppgefin, á leið í frí
Tired, exhausted, going on holiday
I was surprised the other day when I realised I’ve been working for eeeeasyJet for 5 months now. Writing this, I still was in doubt so I had to count on my fingers “middle of August, September, October, November, December… yup 5 months.” During these 5 months I haven’t taken any holiday, and there was only one bank holiday and that was in August which feels like a century ago. A nice, long Christmas holiday is just what I need right now, and it starts tomorrow! All I have to do is to power through two days at work, pack my suitcase, go to the airport and boom then I’ll be on holiday!
My department at work had a Christmas party Monday night, yes Monday night. Apparently that was because of people that work on the mainland and only come to Luton a couple of days per week. (I always get jealous hearing on Monday mornings, when it’s freezing in the UK, how warm it is on the mainland “oh it’s 25 degrees and sunny in Paris.”). Anyways, the Christmas party was held at a Brazilian club in London. We didn’t know before hand that Monday nights are cowboy nights. Brazilian meets cowboy was a rather weird cross over. After official finishing time some people that didn’t feel like going home stayed until late, and most of them showed up for work a few hours later. Hard core that lot, I have to say.
